Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has allowed 183 private hospitals, enlisted by the State Government, to become Covid 19 vaccination session sites in Odisha.
The Ministry gave the permission for a smooth conduct of vaccination drive being undertaken by the Union Government.
Earlier, the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha, had requested the Union Government in this regard.
“As per your letter under reference, private hospitals empanelled under AB-PMJAY have been allowed as Covid-19 vaccination session sites. However, as Odisha has not adopted AB-PMJAY, it is requested that 183 private hospitals under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana may kindly be allowed as such sites in Odihsa,” H and FW ACS PK Mohapatra had requested the Ministry.
As per the schedule, the second phase Covid vaccination drive will begin across the country from March 1.
