According to information, the Chief Secretary accompanied by Bargarh district Collector and other senior officers went to the zero point of the Hirakud water reservoir and inspected the Gangadhar Meher Mega Lift Irrigation Project there. He too visited the under-construction Mega Drinking Water Supply Project, which is meant to supply drinking water to Atabiri, Bijepur and Gaisilet blocks in the district.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Secretary said the project would supply drinking water to 350 villages through 150 overhead tanks, when completed.
Besides, the Chief Secretary went to the displaced colony at Kurumakela under Ambabhana block and discussed with the displaced families about their problems. He reportedly assured people that houses under Biju Pucca Ghar to be given to eligible people and basic facilities like roads and schools to be established soon.
