କରୋନା ସଙ୍କଟ ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରଧାନମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ବଡ଼ ଘୋଷଣା
Sundargarh, Apr 8: Even as the Odisha Government makes tall claims to have taken many measure in eradicating poverty and malnutrition in the State, a pitiable incident from Sundargarh district draws a grim picture.
A video clip, in which a hungry child was seen licking food stuffs from a left-out disposed plate in mineral-rich Koida area of Sundergarh district, has gone viral.
The kid in the video has been identified as Manoranjan, the youngest child of one Rabana Munda of Ganua village under Koida Block in the district.
As per reports, Munda lost his wife and was left with three children Rajan, Malati and Manoranjan. Due to extreme poverty, all the three children are suffering from malnourishment.
Speaking to Argus News, Munda expressed his helplessness at his family’s poverty and constant struggle for survival.
Munda said that he has to move out in search of work every day, leaving his children at home. He also confirmed that the viral video is of his youngest child, who is seen licking the discarded plate.
