Bhubaneswar, Jun 8: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday stressed on making all prior preparations for treatment of children who are likely to be affected by the possible third wave of Covid and raising the number daily vaccination in the State.
He said phased unlocking of lockdown in districts witnessing decline in daily infection rate is under active consideration of the State Government.
The Chief Minister reviewed the Covid situation through a videoconferencing and issued necessary directions to district Collectors and officers.
Stating that experts have been predicting that paediatric population will be mostly affected by the possible third wave, the Chief Minister asked concerned authorities to provide additional training to doctors and health workers on treating the disease.
He said State government is considering to start unlock process in phases in the districts where test positivity rate (TPR) has been declining considerably. He asked officers to raise the daily vaccination number from current 1.5 lakh to 3 lakh.
ACS, Health, PK Mohapatra 1,114 doctors and 1,036 health workers would be provided special training soon.
