Reviewing Covid situation with Chief Secretary, DGP, SRC, district Collectors and other senior officials through videoconferencing, the Chief Minister emphasised on strict enforcement of the Covid safety protocols for minimising spread of the virus. He asked the DGP to deploy police personnel adequately for the purpose.
Patnaik advised to undertake a 10-day special drive to slow down Covid infection. He asked the police to take stringent action against the violators.
The Chief Minister directed Collectors to create awareness among people about Covid guidelines. He asked them to ensure that use of facemask, washing hands and social distancing norms are followed by one and all.
Apprehending that the new wave of Covid virus might create a devastating situation, the Chief Minister asked all officers present to remain alert and take all preventive measures to check spread of the virus.
Expressing concern over spread of virus in western Odisha districts, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary, ACS, Health and Family Welfare Department and other senior officers to visit the western region, take stock of ground situation and take measures against the virus accordingly.
