Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Chief Minister Naveen Patanik on Tuesday expressed happiness over arrival of Covid vaccines in Bhubaneswar and asserted that a seamless vaccination programme will be undertaken in the State.
“It is a moment of great joy that Covishield vaccine has reached Odisha in a special flight. Odisha is fully prepared with an elaborate system for seamless vaccination programme to save precious lives, with focus on frontline health workers including Anganwadi workers,” tweeted the Chief Minister.
It may be noted that 40,800 vials of Covishield vaccines prepared by the Serum Institute of India arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Monday afternoon. Vaccination drive is expected to be undertaken very soon.
According to the latest information, the first vaccine van carrying 7,000 bottles of Covishield moved to Puri. Thereafter, vans carrying 4,000 bottles moved to Nayagarh.
