Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated a high-level bridge at Aska Kainfulia in Ganjam district which will lessen distance from Aska, Bhanjanagar, Chhatrapur and other cities of Ganjam district to the capital city Bhubaneswar.
Two bridges constructed during the British period were replaced by the new bridge. The bridge will facilitate good communication for about 3 lakh people and help strengthen tourism and commerce sectors in Ganjam district, said the Chief Minister while unveiling the bridge on vartual mode.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that a total of 1000 km roads and 30 Setus (bridges) will be constructed in the State this financial year. For this, Rs 2,300 crore will be spent, he said.
The Chief Minister requested people of the district to strictly adhere to Covid safety guidelines. Aska MP Pramila Bisoi, MLA Debraj Mohanty and district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange were present, among others.
