Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: Cold wave condition is likely to prevail at isolated places in eight districts of Odisha for next 24 hours, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Monday.
“Cold wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Balangir, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur for next 24 hours,” said the latest bulletin of the Met Centre.
The Met Department has issued a yellow weather warning for these districts till tomorrow morning.
The weathermen said that the cold is tolerable but there will be mild health concern for infant and elderly people during the period.
The Met Department suggested people to avoid prolonged exposure to cold during night and early in the morning.
It also suggested people to keep live stocks in indoors and shaded areas during night and early in the morning.
Today, the highest maximum temperature of 32.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Sundargarh and Nayagarh while the lowest minimum temperature of 7.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani in the State, the bulletin added.
