The armed robbery took place in the Bhotapada area under Mancheswar police limits. The victims Dinabandhu Das and his wife sustained serious injuries and are being treated in a hospital.
According to the information, the miscreants entered the house late on Wednesday night and tied Das and his daughter with a rope and attacked his wife with an iron rod. Dinabandhu was made to stand motionless at gunpoint throughout the loot. The entire house was ransacked with lockers and almirahs lying open.
Gold ornaments worth of 30 lakhs and cash of Rs 3 lakhs were looted from their house.
The father-daughter duo managed to unknot themselves shortly after the burglars fled the scene and immediately contacted the local police.
The Mancheswar police have started an investigation and are trying to nab the perpetrators, latest reports said.
