Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury on Monday said the number of beds in Covid Hospitals will be increased in view of rise in positive cases in the capital city.
“The daily Covid19 positive count in the BMC area is on the rise. For today, 70 positive cases have been detected as of now. The number may rise further by five to eight cases by evening. There are 150 beds operating in BMC hospitals. We have decided to increase the number further,” said Chaudhury.
He said five to 10 positive cases are being detected from the airport and railway station every day. The main reason behind rise in Covid cases in Bhuaneswar is absence of travel restriction. He further informed that 70 people were getting treatment in Covid hospitals by yesterday. The State Government will decide on imposition of night curfew in Bhubaneswar, he said.
