Angul, May 31: Taking stringent action against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines put up by the government, district administration officials stopped a marriage feast in Gurujang village under Talcher block in Angul district last night and later distributed the food among poor and needy.
As per the report, the accused identified as Harihar Lenka of the same locality had organised the wedding ceremony of her daughter in the village last night. However, in what could be dubbed as a blatant violation of Covid-19 norms he had organised a feast for over hundred people.
Notably, as a part of its Covid lockdown restrictions Odisha Government has imposed a cap of 25 people at marriage functions.
Getting information on the incident, officials of district administration stopped the feast by reaching the spot and reprimanded Harihar.
The food was later distributed among the poor and needy people in Talcher block with the help of local Sarpanch.
