Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: A Covid Warrior Memorial will be constructed at the Biju Patnaik Park here to recognise sacrifice and services rendered by Covid warriors by sacrificing lives for protection of the people of the State.
The memorial will be inaugurated on August 15, 2021, said a statement issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department on Monday.
Department ACS PK Mohapatra has written to a letter to the Special Secretary, Works Department for construction of the Covid Memorial.
“In order to keep Covid 19 pandemic in the memory of people as well as to recognise the sacrifices and services rendered by the Covid Warriors who have lost their lives fighting the pandemic, the Government has decided to construct a Covid Warrior Memorial at the Biju Patnaik Park in Bhubaneswar. The memorial should be ready for inauguration on August 15, 2021,” read the letter.
