Among the fresh fatalities in Odisha, Khordha district recorded the highest number 18 deaths of which 11 were reported from Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: As many as 66 more people succumbed to Covid-19 in Odisha while undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the State, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Monday.
The fresh fatalities include one each from the districts of Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, and Sundargarh districts ; two each from Balangir, Bhadrak and Nayagarh; three each from Jajpur and Jharsuguda; five from Angul; six from Mayurbhanj; nine from Puri; 10 from Cuttack; and 18 from Khordha district of which 11 from Bhubaneswar.
With this, the death toll of the State due to Covid-19 reached to 6,168.
The Health Department also said that the list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
