“The district Collector has said that the MP was invited to the foundation stone laying ceremony held on January 23. When I could know about the proposed bus stand, I don’t understand how a sitting MP couldn’t know it,” said former Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debashish Samantray.
Samantray said the selected land belonged to Cuttack city and there is no wrong in evicting the same from encroachers for a Government project. He too stated that sites for projects are being decided based on Google map survey. "There is no wrong in Google map survey," he contended.
Notably, Mahtab, the BJD MP from Cuttack, had yesterday questioned the selection of the land at Khan Nagar thorugh Google map survey. "The land has been selected through a google map survey. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the project decided by the Chief Secretary. Practically, a library and a Saibaba Temple are located on the land. Nearby railway line may be expanded in future and, thus, the project is not wisely planned. People’s representatives should have been consulted before selection of bus terminal site," Mahtab had said.
