Bhadrak, Feb 18: A dead dolphin was caught in fishing net from the Salandi River near Gobindapur under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district on Thursday afternoon. The dolphin weighs abour 50 kg.
According to reports, the fishermen handed over the dolphin to forest personnel soon after it was caught. Locals gathered in large numbers to have the glimpse of the love fish.
According to experts, dolphins swim to Baitarani and Salandi river from the Bay of Bengal often. Dead dolphins have been caught many times in the past.
The dolphin was buried after post-mortem was conducted on it, said a forest official of the Chandbali forest department.
