Puri, May 31: Persisting heat wave conditions seem to have impacted the lives of animals in Odisha jungles, which lack density of trees due to so called industrialisation and modernisation.
An incident has come to the fore in Puri district’s Pipili area that substantiates the apprehension that has kept disturbing wildlife experts and animal lovers nowadays.
According to information, a deer was seen moving near a village under Durgadashpur gram panchayat this morning. Some village youths caught hold of the deer and handed it over to Balipatana forest officials. Later, they freed the deer in the nearby reserve jungle.
“We had never seen a deer coming near our village. The deer might have come near human habitation in search of food and water,” said some villagers.
