Vehicular movement was badly affected in the morning hours as foggy weather brought down the visibility sharply in areas like Angul, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and Mayurbhanj.
People in these States were seen setting up bonfire at places to get respite from the chilling cold.
Among the districts Mayurbhan seemed to be worst affected by chilling cold and foggy condition. For last two days Udala has witnessed a dipping mercury level resulting in the reduction of morning walkers on the road. That apart, the presence of a thick cover of fog on the area till 11 am is making life more difficult for residents.
Notably, as many as 20 cities across the State had reported temperature below 15 degree Celsius on Monday with Jharsuguda remaining at the bottom with 10.4 degree Celsius.
The Regional Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar has issued Yellow Warning for dense fog for districts like Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Boudh for 24 hours starting from 8.30 am today to 8.30 am tomorrow.
