Bhubaneswar, December 12: Life was thrown out of gear completely in several parts of Odisha including the Twin City Cuttack-Bhubaneswar due to a thick blanket of fog which engulfed it in the early morning hours on Saturday.
Due to the presence of the fog the visibility on the road in the Capital City Bhubaneswar dropped to less than 50 mts posing a harrowing experience for commuters.
Vehicles including buses plying on the streets of the city were seen moving very cautiously to avoid in untoward incident starting from the wee hours.
However, the foggy condition brought cheers for morning-walkers and early-risers also who took a glimpse of the scenic beauty of the Mother Nature.
Notably, the foggy condition has remained intact across the State for past couple of days as per the alert of the Indian Meteorological Department.
The IMD Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar had had issued dense fog alert for eight districts of Odisha including Cuttack Khorda, Jajpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur and Bhadrak.
Dense fog alert had also been issued for several districts in the State for the next 48 hours.
