As per the report, the road passing in front of the Budha Raja High School was witnessing traffic congestion last evening when the incident took place. Driver of the local Women’s Police Station PCR van bearing registration number OD 05 L 7336 reached the spot and dashed against a car owned by one Debendra Panda of the same area from the rear.
Eyewitnesses say the PCR driver was talking over phone while driving.
Later, several other vehicles which were trailing the PCR also dashed with each other after the drivers lost control over the wheels as a result of the crash.
Angry commuters expressed their anger over such reckless driving by the PCR van driver and a verbal duel erupted at the spot for several minutes.
Getting intimation, Ainthapali Police rushed to the spot immediately and removed the PCR van from the accident sight.
While nobody sustained injury in the crash, Panda has lodged a complaint against the PCR van driver demanding compensation.
