Bhubaneswar, Sep 23: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday issued guidelines for observance of Durga Puja from October 11 to 15 in strict adherence to Covid safety protocols.
The BMC issued guidelines in consonance with the State Government order issued on August 9 for Parvan season.
As per the guidelines, no congregation for celebration of Durga Puja will be allowed. The Puja will be conducted in indoor-like situation only for observance of rituals without any public participation.
The Mandaps/Pandals shall have to be covered on three sides and one side will be opened only for use by the priest. The fourth side should also be covered properly so as not to allow any public view/Darshan of idols by devotees.
The idol size should be less than 4 feet.
At any point of time, there shall not be more than seven persons will be allowed at any Mandap. All those present shall have to follow strict Covid19 protocols like social distancing, wearing of masks properly and sanitization arrangement.
No immersion procession will be allowed. The idols will be immersed in artificial ponds to be created by the BMC for the purpose.
