According to information, the unit was engaged in manufacturing counterfeit cement by recycling expired or damaged cement and mixing other raw material including dust in it. Police arrested seven persons, including the owner of the unit, in this connection.
Around 420 bags of counterfeit cement and different equipment, tools used for recycling and packaging the product were also seized.
“The Kalinganagar police station IIC was tipped off about the unit at around 8 pm, which was being operated from a rice mill. Immediately the police swung into action and raided the place,” said a senior official.
During the raid the cops seized 420 bags of duplicate cement and arrested seven persons, including the owner of the unit, he added.
