Rourkela, Apr 5: A massive fire broke out at Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) here in Odisha in the wee hours of Monday.
Machineries, electricity tools and other instruments worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes in the fire mishap.
No injuries and casualties were reported so far.
According to reports, the fire broke out at the control room of the Steel Melting Shop (SMS)-2 at around 3 am on Monday.
The control room was completely burnt in the mishap while machines installed inside the room and other instruments including computers were gutted in the fire.
After getting information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
Meanwhile the RSP authorities formed a four-member committee to ascertain the cause of the fire.
