On November 27 last year, former IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash were arrested by the Odisha Vigilance on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Cuttack, June 9: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash in a job fraud case registered at Golanthara police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The father and son were reportedly granted bail with the condition of furnishing two sureties of Rs 2 lakh each.
In February this year, Golanthara police station had booked the father-son duo in connection with three cases registered against expelled BJD leader and Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahy.
Earlier, the High Court granted them bail in the case registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Sky King, a Bhubaneswar-based travel agency, for alleged non-payment of dues of Rs 65 lakh.
Prior to that, the tainted IFS officer was granted bail by a special vigilance court in a vigilance case registered against him.
