The deceased has been identified as Lulu Bhoi (12), a resident of Masiput village under the same locality.
As per the report, the deceased played ‘Free Fire’ game over mobile phone near a school on Thursday afternoon with two of his friends. Lulu who eventually lost in the game was pressurised by the other two to hand them over the mobile phone to which he declined.
Irked over the denial the accused minor duo attacked Lulu with a stone inflicting critical head injury due to which he succumbed subsequently.
In an attempt to destroy evidence of the victim’s death his friend duo dumped his body in Kolab reservoir.
After family members discovered the minor’s body floating in the reservoir this morning his murder came to light.
Town Police launched an investigation post fishing out of the body and detained the accused duo for quizzing.
