Khurda, Jun 15: Continuing with their crackdown against gamblers police busted yet another gambling den in Ranipada village under Banapur police limits in Khurda district on Tuesday and took seven persons into custody.
The process of identification of the accused is underway.
As per the report, Odisha Police put a house located in Ranipada under its scanner following a number of allegations of running a gambling den. Based on reliable inputs, the same house was raided today by a police team which caught the accused red handed while making money transactions.
After taking the gamblers into custody the cops recovered Rs 4410 in cash, 4 motorcycles and playing cards from their possession.
Cases under the relevant sections of Orissa Prevention of Gambling (OPG) Act have been lodged against the accused.
Notably, in a similar fashion during the Kumar Purnima festival last year, police had arrested four gamblers by conducting a series of raids in Tangi area. Cash worth Rs 5000 had been seized from their possession.
