Jharsuguda, Feb 12: A day after a girl’s body was found lying on the track near IB Railway Station, police identified the deceased on Thursday evening.
The victim is Monika Joshi, a resident of Lamatibahal area under Brajarajnagar Police Station.
Said to be a student of Brajaranjnagar College, Monika had been to attend computer classes at 12 noon on Wednesday but went missing subsequently. Family members of the victim had also lodged a missing case in connection with the incident.
Her body was found on the stretch of IB-Jharsugdua railway track later in the evening to be identified by family members at a later stage.
While Government Railway Police (GRP) has seized the body for autopsy, it is being suspected that, Monica might have tried to board a train and fallen in the attempt.
However, Monika’s family has suspected the case to be a murder and demanded thorough inquiry.
