Bhubaneswar, Apr 9: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday requested Prime Minister Narendar Modi for supply of Covid vaccines for 10 days in advance to Odisha at the earliest.
“We are currently able to vaccinate 2.5 lakh persons per day and have capability to increase further. We request that at least 10 days stock of the vaccines is ensured for Odisha,” Patnaik said at a meeting held virtually between the Prime Minster and CMs on COVID19 situation on the day.
The Chief Minister too urged the Prime to provide Rs 300 crore to Odisha for Covid management.
“During 2020-21, Odisha had requested for Rs 400 crore under Emergency Covid Response Plan (ECRP), but we received only Rs 146 crore. In view of new wave of Covid, it is requested that at least Rs 300 crore be released to Odisha for 2021-22 for Covid Management,” said Patnaik
According to reports, the Prime Minister enquired about Covid management, vaccination from CMs in their respective States. He assured all supports to States.
