Sundargarh, Mar 4: Police on Thursday recovered hacked-up body parts of a 30-year-old man from the Ib riverbank near Bandhapali village under Sundargarh Sadar police limits in the district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Durga Majhi of Talsara village. He had recently come to Khatbadga village under the Sadar police limits and engaged in daily wage work, sources said.
Local residents spotted severed head, one leg and torso floating on the river this morning and alerted the local police.
The police rushed to the spot and recovered leg and other parts of body from the river bank.
On being informed, fire brigades also reached the spot and started a search operation to find the other parts of body.
Meanwhile, police seized the recovered body parts and started an investigation into the matter.
