Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday issued a yellow warning of heat wave for as many as 20 districts of Odisha for next few days.
According to the IMD’s latest weather bulletin, heat wave condition very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore till April 1.
“Heat is tolerable for general public but moderate health concern for vulnerable people viz- infants, elderly and sick people. It is adviced to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during 11 am to 3 pm in these areas,” the bulletin said.
“Maximum temperature (Day temperature) very likely to rise by around 2°C during next 48 hours and it will decrease by 2-3 °C after 3 days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature (Day temperature) will be above normal by 4-6°C at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 3 days,” it added.
Today, the highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Titilagarh and the lowest minimum temperature of 17 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin added.
