Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena directed the district collectors to remain prepared for tackling situations like water-logging, flash flood, landslides and any other eventualities due to very heavy rains across the State.
Jena also instructed the district collectors to make prompt arrangements for evacuating people from vulnerable areas, if required.
Notably, heavy rains, triggered by a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, lashed many parts in Odisha including the State Capital on Sunday and Monday.
Several low-lying areas in cities like capital Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapada, Balasore and Bhadrak have been inundated with rainwater.
