The herd comprising of at least 30 elephants-both jumbos and calves-sneaked reportedly sneaked into Tildega village and grazed on paddy crops. Later the pachyderms entered into Rasti village and destroyed two houses, though nobody was hurt in the incident.
While villagers called up Forest Department officials during the elephant incursion they have alleged that officials didn’t turn up. Later they had to blow drums to drive away the herd.
Notably, in Mid-September this year a herd of at least 17 elephants had entered into the Ujwalpur Forest Range and caused massive crop and house damage.
