Acting on complaints received at different times, the officials conducted raids on illegal liquor traders at Akhuapada, Jhutuna, Jagannath Prasad, Palasa and Rabhunathpur and Bhandaripokhari and seized 100 litres of country liquor, three litres of foreign liquor and seven litres of beer and arrested four persons.
The cost of seized liquor is estimated to be over Rs 50,000.
The arrested accused have been identified as Badal Mallick, Dillip Khuntia of Jhutuna village, Bhaba Munda of Bhandaripokhari and Jitendra Dhal of Palasa.
Excise officials have warned people engaged in illegal liquor trade to refrain from the illegal act and stated that more such raids will be conducted in coming days.
