Bhubaneswar, Jul 9: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar on Friday predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning likely to occur at several districts during next five days.
“Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Deogarh till 8.30 am of Saturday,” said the latest bulletin.
“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur 8.30 am of Saturday,” it added.
The IMD issued a yellow weather warning for the above mentioned districts till tomorrow morning.
They weathermen also predicted heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning over several districts on the State till July 14.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershower has occurred at many places in the State during last 24 hours.
