Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, requesting themto ensure connectivity between unconnected villages of Krushnaprasad block to the mainland through Bharatmala project.
Pradhan informed the CM about receipt of a petition of a 5-year-old child from the region as regards to the problem being faced by 96 villages and proposals for permanent solution.
“A petition from Master Rishap Pradhan, a Class 5 student, points out that 96 villages of the block are connected to Puri headquarters through water only. This creates problems for daily commuters, children, women and aged people more so at times of emergencies. He has requested to reconsider inclusion of the east coast of the Chilika Lake in the Bharatmala project. He further adds that the Government should construct a bridge from Satapada to Jahnikuda of Krushnaprasad block. This will ensure that the isolated area gets connected to the mainstream and access to the basic facilities,” noted Pradhan.
Mentioning these, Pradhan requested the CM and Gadkari to look into the matter and take appropriate action for welfare of this area.
