Phulbani, Feb 21: In what can be taken as a major achievement, the Kandhamal police arrested a man who had reportedly made death threat calls to the chief of the Jaleshpeta Ashram under Tumudibandha police limits twice during the last 24 hours.
The Tumudibandha police arrested him from Bissamkatak in Rayagada district today.
Notably, Swami Jivanmuktananda Puri, chief of the Ashram, had received death threat calls twice, the first being at 5.30 pm yesterday. He soon lodged an FIR at the Turmudi Bandh PS. Based on his complaint, the Ashram was guarded with one platoon of CRPF personnel. While the SP talked to the Ashram chief, the SDPO visited the Ashram.
