The prestigious examination conducted to select candidates to various undergaraduate Engineering, Science and Architecture courses in the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) was earlier scheduled to be held on July 3 this year but later got postponed due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
The administering body of JEE, IIT Kharagpur had released the information brochure for the engineering entrance examination on the official website, www.jeeadv.ac.in on June 26.
“Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic-related circumstances in India, the date of JEE (Advanced) 2021 had earlier been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course,” the IIT Kharagpur notice read.
Taking into account the hardships faced by the applicants due to the prevailing pandemic situation several adjustments have been made to JEE Advanced 2021. As a part of the same those candidates who had qualified for the JEE Advanced 2020 but failed to attend the tests due to Covid will be allowed to appear in JEE Advanced 2021 directly. There will be no need for them to appear in JEE Main 2021.
