According to information, the accused, Lingaraj Bhoi, forcefully took his father to a newly constructed house for performing a human sacrifice. He also forced his father to wear a new dress before garlanding him. Bhoi and tantrik Chintrasen Rana (70) of Rajpur village were performing rituals for the human sacrifice, when some local residents spotted them and alerted the police.
Soon, a team of local police reached the village and rescued the elderly man.
The elderly man has been rescued and rushed to Kalampur Community Health Centre (CHC), said a police officer.
“Lingaraj has been suffering from mental illness for months. Recently, he came in contact with the tantrik who assured Lingaraj that he could get hidden treasure if he would kill his father as human sacrifice,” said a local resident.
