Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: The Supreme Court on Thursday sought for a response from the Andhra Pradesh Government in a contempt plea filed by the Odisha Government over boundary dispute in the Kotia area in Koraput district.
A Bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar heard the matter and directed the AP Govt to file a response.
The matter was posted to be heard February 19 (Friday).
In its contempt petition, the Odisha Government alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Government is holding gram panchayat elections in the Kotia area in Koraput district by violating orders of the apex court. The SC had in 1968 and in 2006 asked for maintenance of status quo in the region till the matter is settled.
