Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has succeeded in its fight against Covid 19 pandemic. The Institute of Life Science (ILS), Bhubaneswar has played an important role in the battle and in indigenous development of Covid vaccine.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated this while addressing the 32nd foundation day funtion of the ILS held here on Thursday. He too urged upon the ILS, Bhubaneswar to join the sector related to life and livelihoods of people of Odisha.
Pradhan also hailed the ILS saying that the institute has played a vital role in development of human health, agriculture and environment and conducting high-level researches for furthering their progress. Besides, the ILS is not only helping to strengthen the Make in India initiative but also creating scientific knowhow in Eastern India, particularly in aspirational district like Nabarangpur. “The commitment and efforts of ILS Bhubaneswar will certainly meet the aspirations of people and benefit the society at large,” contended Pradhan.
On the occasion, the Union Minister stated that he has recommended to Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan for establishment of a Centre of Excellence on Marine Biotechnology at the ILS Bhubaneswar to conduct researches for protection of long sea-beach of Odisha and its environment. Dr Harsh Vardhan has assured all support in this regard, he informed.
