Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar on Monday said that light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorm with lighting very likely to occur at several places in Odisha between February 17 and 19.
“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore from 8.30 AM of February 17 to 8.30 AM of February 18,” said the IMD’s midday bulletin of today.
The IMD issued a yellow weather warning for these 10 districts during the period.
The Met Dept also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Angul and at one or two places over the rest district of Interior Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak and Cuttack during the period.
The midday bulletin of today also said that thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur from 8.30 AM of February 18 to 8.30 AM of February 19.
The weathermen also issued a yellow weather warning for these 14 districts during the period.
The south interior districts of the State will experience light to moderate rain from 8.30 AM of February 18 to 8.30 AM of February 19, the bulletin added.
Today, the highest maximum temperature of 35.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhubaneswar and the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani in the State, said the bulletin.
