Khordha, Feb 16: Unidentified miscreants have made a failed attempt to loot cash from Banamalipur branch of UCO bank in Khordha district on Monday night.
As per the report, some residents living in the neighbourhood of the branch spotted a window grill of it broken in the early morning today and called up police suspecting something fishy.
After police reached the spot and carried out the preliminary investigation, it came to light that the miscreants entered into the bank premise through the window. The files and other documents kept at the branch found scattered pointing at a desperate search by the looters for valuables.
In an attempt to destroy evidence of the loot attempt, the miscreants have cut the wire of the CCTv installed at the branch, said police.
However, the strong room of the bank was found intact.
Further investigation is underway into the case.
