A cyclonic formation formed over the same area yesterday turned into a Low Pressure area this morning, confirmed a satellite image taken by INSAT 3DR.
As per an IMD press release, Yellow Warning forecasting heavy rainfall has been issued for Sundergrh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur and Bhadrak for July 27 and 28.
Similarly, Yellow Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, and heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh, Sundergarh and Sambalpur between July 28 and 29 have also been issued.
Districts like Sundergarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall and districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bargarh, and Dhenkanal between July 29 and 30 as per the Yellow Warning.
Fishermen have been cautioned against venturing into the sea between July 28 and 30 due to the squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely over North Bay of Bengal under the influence of the Low Pressure.
