The JMFC court issued show-cause notice to the IIC in connection to the call detail records (CDR) of the accused in the sensitive double murder case.
The court reportedly asked the Mohanty, the investigating officer in the Mahanga double murder case, to respond the notice by December 10.
On Thursday, the court had directed the IIC to appear in person for hearing on his adjournment petition. However, instead of appearing in person, Mohanty submitted a petition through an additional public prosecutor.
Notably, BJP leader Kulamani Baral (75) and his associate Dibyasingh Baral (80) were murdered in January this year.
Earlier, hearing the protest petition filed by Ramakanta Baral, son of slain former Mahanga block chairman Kulamani, the court had ordered a fresh investigation into the alleged involvement of Law Minister Pratap Jena in the double murder case.
