Bhubaneswar, Jun 20: On the occasion of 7th International Yoga Day tomorrow, the Yoga Mahotsav Samiti will organise an online yoga camp in which as many as 12,000 people will participate in Odisha.
While earlier Yoga was being practiced in parks, open spaces and railway stations on the Yoga Day every year, this year people have been advised to practice Yoga in their houses due to Covid pandemic. This year’s theme is “Yoga for Wellness”.
To make the day successful, the Yoga Mahotsav Samiti will organise the camp on a virtual mode this year and help about 12,000 people to practice yoga.
“Union of soul and super supreme soul is Yoga. It is a precious gift of our age-old culture. Yoga keeps health and mind in good condition and makes us learn self-restraint. Yoga Mahotsav Samiti has been active in Odisha since 2016. People are being provided Yoga training online for the last two months,” said Samiti general secretary Dibakar Harichandan.
Samiti State member Dr Prafulla Mishra said a new kind of Pranayam is being taught to people in view of Covid19. “We must practice Yoga to keep our health fit andactive,” said Dr Mishra.
