Malkangiri, Apr 24: Resorting to blood-shed again, the outlawed CPI (Maoist) group members has killed the Sub Inspector (SI) of Chhattisgarh Police in Bijapur district bordering Odisha’s Malkangiri on Friday.
The slain SI Murli Tati, a native of Bijapur, had been abducted by the Red-rebels on April 21 from regional tribal fair at Gangalur. He was on the hitlist of the Maoists for assisting police in the inhospitable terrain during combing operations.
Chhattisgarh Police confirmed the killing of Tati in the hands of Maoists on Saturday after his body was found dumped near Kusumpara village at Gangalur in Bijapur.
The rebels also left a handout by the side of Tati’s body in which they alleged him of harassing the local villagers and indulging in confrontation with the Maoists.
After abduction of Tati his wife had made an emotional appeal to the Maoists to release him, but they didn’t pay heed to it.
