Baliguda, Feb 16: Locals were left in a state of panic after a number of posters justifying the killing of two persons by Maoists on suspicion of police informers surfaced in Jhiripani area under Belghar Police Station in Kandhamal on Tuesday.
The posters released in the name of Vamsadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali division of banned CPI (Maoist) group and put up on roadside trees, advocated for the killing of Bhandarangi Sarpanch’s son Bhabani Shankar Patra and Guchhaguda resident Hemant Patra by claiming that they had shared vital information to police for Sirki village encounter in Belghar area of the district on September 9 last year.
The encounter which has taken place between a joint team of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police and District Voluntary Force and Maoists had witnessed the death of five Maoists.
Claiming that, the children of Gond community are turning police informers for money, the Red-rebels through their posters cautioned them against the same by warning with dire consequences.
The Red-posters also mentioned about a few other suspected police informers who are on the hit list of the Maoists over their involvement in Sirki encounter.
