Bhubaneswar, Jun 14: A 12-year-old girl who had been engaged as a child labourer in the house of a Retired District Collector in IRC Village here was rescued on Monday.
While, the son of the accused works as a Professor in National Law University, Hyderabad his daughter runs an English Medium school for kids in IRC Village area.
Getting a tip-off on the engagement of the minor in domestic work from reliable source the Childline officials rescued her this morning.
It was learnt that the child was trafficked from her village at Berhampur in November 2020 to be engaged in domestic servitude. Being victim of poverty she was trafficked by such affluent people - the custodian of law.
She was studying in Class- V in the school at the time of being trafficked to Bhubaneswar, says report.
Her father is a rickshaw puller and mother works as a domestic help.
Receiving information Childline rescued the child with the help of Nayapalli police. The child will be produced before CWC.
