As per the report, at least 12 miscreants came in a Mahindra Bolero SUV while the members of the victim family were asleep and broke into their house. Later, by overpowering and tying the hands and legs of the victims they grabbed cash and valuables from the rooms and decamped.
“The loot took place between 2 pm and 3.30 pm. After tying up our hands and legs they started threatening us and then fed some intoxicating materials which induced sleep,” said a member of the victim family.
Police launched a manhunt in connection with the case after visiting the spot today morning.
Some members of the victim family, who fell asleep under the influence of the sedative, have been admitted to Atharabanki health centre for treatment.
