Bhubaneswar, May 5: BJP State president Samir Mohanty observed fasting and sat on a dharna at his residence here in protest against post-poll violence allegedly being resorted to by Trinamool Congress works in West Bengal since Assembly election results were published on May 3.
“There is no place for violence in democracy. People have all right to exercise franchise as per their wishes in the democratic process. They are not forced to so. It is very disappointing that TMC activists have resorted to violence in West Bengal in a revenging mood after results were published two days back,” said Mohanty.
Mohanty expressed anguish saying Didi (WB Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee) has been avenging BJP’s success in the West Bengal and life has been insecure in the State due to violence being committed by TMC activists
“I am protesting attack on BJP workers by TMC activists. I demand that peace prevail in West Bengal which is motherland of legendaries like Rabindra Nath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chaterjee, Swami Vivekananda and Yogi Aurobindo,” said Mohanty.
