Monalisa, bright example of women empowerment
Jajpur, Jun 4: At a time when development planners keep discussing women empowerment putting behind all aspects of growth, a common woman belonging to a peasant family of a village in Jajpur district has made them think more on the capability of women by way of her uncommon deeds.
The woman, Monalisa Bhadra, drives truck and tractor and rides Bullet and horse as well. Besides, she feeds a large number of monkeys every day with motherly caress. Videos of Monalisa’s efficient acts now rules Youtube.
A resident of Jahala village under Beruda gram panchayat, Monalisa says she does all these inspired by her husband.
“I became very happy when I saw my wife feeding Monkeys groundnuts in her own hands. I saw monkeys were playing as if with their mother. I made video of this and uploaded in the Youtube. Lakhs of people watching videos of Monalisa every day,” said Badrinarayan Bhadra, husband of Monalisa.
Monalisa’s parents-in-law said, “We are proud of out daughter –in-law. Our daughter-in-law drives 10-wheeler truck, tractor and bus. She rides Bullet and horse as well. We are proud of her.”
They said Monalisa has become an example for all other women wishing to do something great in life.
